I suffer with Exercise Induced Bronchoconstriction, meaning I get similar to an asthma attack when I exercise hard. A few years ago I had two different recumbent trikes, but couldn't ride them due to this ailment. Fast forward a couple of years, and I now have better asthma/COPD treatment. I loved to ride when I was younger, and wanted to try it again.
I looked at some medium priced mountain bikes, touring bikes, and the like. Then I saw a review of a similar e-bike on YouTube and was intrigued. Found the Hitway BK-3M listed on Amazon, and for less money than a mountain bike I was looking at.
I've had the BK-3M for 2 weeks now, and try to ride a little bit every day. With the better asthma treatment, and the ability to use the PAS, I am riding again. Building up my strength and endurance bit by bit. Last night I was able to pedal about three quarters of a mile, with no assistance, but thankful to know it's there if I need it! I know, only 70 miles so far isn't a lot, but every day I try to go farther than the day before. Where I live is relatively flat, but there are a couple of good sized hills that I could never make on the recumbent trikes, had to walk them up. Not a problem for the Hitway. Oh, and I rarely use PAS on 3, as it is TOO FAST for my comfort level
I am impressed with the build quality of the bike, and while I haven't done much night riding, I do appreciate the headlight and taillight/brake light. The motor is strong, startling so if you're not ready for it. I've only had to charge the battery twice, once for the initial setup, and once at about 50 miles. I've got the bike kitted out with a front rack (for my drone kit bag), and a different Hitway bag on the back rack. Cycling gloves and two water bottles.
The TL;DR: Buy it, you won't regret it, and you might get healthier!
The instructions were clear and assembly was easy. It's really durable and fast. I'll definitely be getting one for my dad!
Gets me to work and back on one charge my commute is 8 miles one way.
The whole thing was working great to my expectations. The length was perfect and soild in distance. The weather will affect some of the performance but overall it was working fine. Great option for anyone looking for a help on their daily.
This is a very nice looking bike. All parts run well and the construction seems to be of good quality. I've only been riding it for three months, but so far the battery is running well. This is my first e-bike and it is more fun to ride than I thought it would be. It accelerates quickly and goes uphill with no problem. I would definitely recommend this bike.
